March was about the physical foundation of the cloud. AWS announced a $100 billion global investment, and for us, that translated into over 20 new Local Zones going live.
Technically, this brings "Single-Digit Millisecond Latency" to almost every major tech hub. If you are building AR/VR backends, industrial IoT, or sub-millisecond telemetry systems, the "distance to silicon" just got shorter. We are seeing a move away from "Central Regions" toward a more distributed "Edge-First" architecture.
On the networking side, VPC Lattice received a critical update: Cross Account Trust Labels. This allows you to define service-to-service communication policies based on logical metadata rather than brittle IP ranges or complex peering. It’s a massive win for multi-account governance.
If you haven't looked at VPC Lattice lately, this update makes it the "Service Mesh" of choice for enterprise-scale networking without the operational overhead of Istio.
